Now the children are in KS2 (the juniors) it is important they are reading regularly at home, at least 5 times a week, and the responsibility to change their reading books lies with them, obviously with encouragement and help from us in school. Reading is crucial to develop your child's vocabulary and has a big impact upon their writing.
If you need any help with how to support your child with reading please come and see us.
The children have a set of spellings to learn for a weekly test. The children will be given a sheet to practise the spellings on. If they lose their sheet please pop into school for another one.
Your child will be given regular maths homework where they will be asked to learn/practise their tables and number facts. These are the key foundation to lots of mathematics and knowing them at speed will help your child greatly.
There are lots of useful websites on Willow Class' pages to help you and your child explore some of the topics we are doing in school. These websites contain information to read, pictures/photographs, videos to watch and games to play to give your child that extra push with their learning. ENJOY!
