I have added some useful website to our Acorn's Class Page, please have a look.
ACTIVITY ONE - MONDAY
Press on the link to the BBC Teach page. Listen to the rhyme '5 Little Monkeys'. Ask your child to find 5 of the same object in your house. I had a look around my house and I found 5 spoons in my kitchen. Ask your child to count the objects. Can they draw 5 monkeys doing something else that they shouldn't be doing?
Have a look at the Numberblocks website. Look for the episodes that go from number 1 - number 5.
ACTIVITY TWO - TUESDAY
Make a model! Make a model of a bed for the monkeys using materials you can recycle. You could use an old tissue box or a cereal box.
ACTIVITY THREE - WEDNESDAY
Help your child to draw and cut around 5 monkeys. Put all 5 monkeys in the bed you created yesterday.
ACTIVITY FOUR - THURSDAY
Now it's time to do some moving!
Ask your child to jump 5 times.
Can they hop 5 times? Change legs.
Can they stand on one foot for the count of 5? Change feet and repeat.
Can they bend down and touch their toes 5 times?
Can they reach up and touch the ceiling on tip-toes 5 times?
ACTIVITY FIVE - FRIDAY
Go to the BBC Teach page and find another song/rhyme about the number 5. Ask your child to sing along and using their fingers on one hand, count down from 5 to 1. You might want to choose '5 Little Ducks' or '5 Little Men in a Flying Saucer'. Have fun!
