If you have a child who is to start school in September 2023 the closing date for applications is January 15th 2023.

The on-line application system goes live on 1st September 2022 at www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools  and search under ‘school admissions’.

If you need any clarification about procedures etc, please contact us.

The Local Authority will issue Offer letters on 15th April 2023.

If you secure a place for your child at St Maria Goretti's, you will hopefully be invited to our Induction sessions and is called ‘SMG Seedlings.'

These sessions start in June 2023 and will run on a Thursday afternoon for 4 weeks. This will provide a brilliant induction to school life and will ease the transitions from nursery or home to school.

Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

Please click on the links below for our Admissions Policy for 2023/2024 and the Supplementary Faith Form. The Supplementary Faith Form is essential for correct ranking in the Admissions Criteria. This form MUST be returned back to school before the closing date 15th January 2023.

IN YEAR ADMISSIONS (Applying for a place at our school during the school year.)

In Year Admissions are admissions to school that take place outside the normal admissions rounds (ie Reception and Year 7)

If you are new to the area and require a school place or if you already reside in the area and you want to move your child from their current local school to our school, your application should be made directly to our school and the child will be admitted where there are available places.

To apply for a place, complete our In Year Admissions form and return to:

bursar@st-mariagoretti.lancs.sch.uk

If you would like your application to be considered under our faith criteria, in addition to the In Year Admissions form, please also complete a church reference form. Copies of both forms are available below or from the school office.

If you have any questions in relation to in year admissions, please contact us either by email our school office

.

You may ring the school office to confirm that the form and accompanying evidence has been received.

Your application will be acknowledged upon receipt and we will advise you of the outcome within a maximum of 15 school days.
