Praying the Rosary

This week we joined over one million children as we all took time to look at the prayers that comprise the Rosary. We enjoyed spending time as a whole School reflecting and praying using Rosary Beads.

The FBA Readers

The children in year 6 have spent time applying to join the Fantastic Book Award Club and here they are opening their first books. There was a lot of excitement as Mrs Snape kept the books too secret.

The children and staff gave a warm SMG welcome to Bishop Wraclaw from Poland. His Lordship was very impressed with the learning taking pace around school and shared a prayer with each class. Every child was also given a blessing. Our Polish children were very helpful and translated for us so we were able to communicate. A huge thank you goes to the three, Year 6 girls who conducted the tour so well.

Sgt Nelany - Junior Cadet Club

Sgt Nelany came to see us on Wednesday 20th September to introduce a new club that will be running here at school.  The very first of it's kind; The Junior Cadet Club.  This club is open to all children in school who show an interest although we are anticipating very high numbers and so the children will be fairly chosen during assembly in the coming weeks.  Sgt Nelany has promised to come and visit all the classes within school to help to understand the role of a Police Officer, to talk about what it means to be a good citizen and to have a go with some of the tools that she carries with her.  We look forward to this club starting.
