Before you go to tackle your work today I'd like you to know this...

You lot are AMAZING. You have worked so very hard with every single task I have set and nearly every one of you has completed every single lesson. I can't tell you how proud I am of you.

But it's a bit more than that...
You guys at home, and those in school, have done so much for your families, friends, neighbours, the country and the world. You have followed the rules when you were told to stay indoors - when all you wanted to do was play out. You have missed time with your friends - when all you wanted to do was hang out with them. You have not been able to celebrate birthdays or milestones in your lives for almost a year now and whilst ALL of that was happening...you have still completed your school work - when you probably didn't really want to. You have joined in phone calls with me (and been so lovely and polite) - when maybe it wasn't really that 'cool' to be talking to your teacher. You have entertained my silly competitions and joined in with huge smiles on your faces - maybe you did want to do those!!

My point is, you lot are HEROS. When 'Covid-19' becomes a unit in the History lessons for your children, and your children's children you will be able to tell them that you were one of the HERO KIDS. You are a part of history!

I hope that this will be the last Monday home learning I will ever have to send you and the words 'lock-down' are now well and truly locked in the history books.
